The Foundation for the Children of the Californias is excited to announce “Rockin’ the Ranch,” at this year’s 2016 Concert for the Kids even on Saturday, August 27th.  The venue is the historic Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, a graceful countryside retreat that will be transformed into a rock-star quality concert setting.

The show will feature the iconic band, Blood Sweat & Tears, the first group to successfully blend rock and jazz into a genre-crossing sound and style.  So successfully, in fact, that the band’s second album, “Blood Sweat & Tears,” topped the billboard charts, beat out The Beatles, “Abbey Road” for Grammy Album of the Year, and produced major hit singles like “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy,” “And When I Die,” and “Spinning Wheel.”

Lead singer Bo Bice, brings a fresh powerhouse voice to the band.  Bo created his own following as runner up on season four of American Idol and brings a well-seasoned southern rock presence that audiences love.  Equally as exciting is this year’s opening act.  We welcome another powerhouse vocalist, Constantine Maroulis (another Idol finalist), star of Broadway’s Rock of Ages.  The 2016 Concert for the Kids promises to be one of the most vocally powerful concerts we’ve presented to date!

The Concert for the Kids is far more than a rocking musical event.  Proceeds from the evening will provide critical support for the Foundation for the Children of the Californias (FCC).  The FCC is part of a tri-national humanitarian collaboration among philanthropists in the United States, Mexico and Canada, which for more tan 22 years has provided needed medical care and disease prevention education to children of the border region through support of the Hospital Infantil de las Californias.

Hospital Infantil has provided nearly a half a million pediatric medical consultations, 13,000 surgeries and hundreds of thousands of hours of nutrition education.  With your help, no child will be turned away for inability to pay.

This year, funds raised will support the development of a new on-site dental clinic, the “Programa de Apoyo a Pacientes Indigentes” (program for indigent patients) and Foundation operations.  Even more “rocking'” is the match the has been made by Price Philanthropies.  Funds raised (up to $100,000) will be doubled and your contributions will go twice as far for the kids!
